Safe and enjoyable chewing tips:
  1. Make sure to choose the proper antler size for your dog.  Strong, hard chewers may need a bigger size.
  2. Always supervise your dog while he or she is chewing on the antler.   Your dog should be gnawing on it, rather than biting hard on it.  Try to limit your dog to chewing only 2-3 cm per day.
  3. Antlers typically do not splinter, however make sure to monitor your dog, and remove the antler if it develops sharp points or when it becomes small enough to swallow.
  4. Aggressive chewers may try to bite down hard using their back teeth.  This can cause your dog to break a tooth.  If you notice that your dog is chewing too aggressively, take away the antler. 
  5. If your dog isn’t interested in the antler at first, try soaking it in water to draw out the aroma of the marrow.
